It's Gonna Be May, 2024!

Debbie here... I've had several inquiries lately about creating a Monthly Planner out of a notebook. So let's begin! My notebook is an Erin Condren A5 Lined coiled notebook. You could follow this same process with a different size. The benefit of creating your own is that you can decide how many pages you need between months. Everyone's needs are different, so make it work for you! You may want a page for each week, or maybe just a few pages for monthly notes.

The four Planner Kate sticker sheets needed are the two monthly (CYO -Create Your Own) shell pages and the two decorative pages. I also like to add the coordinating Perpetual Calendar to the notes page just before the month, but that is purely optional.

Let's start with the Perpetual Calendar. A full sticker sheet can be intimidating, but it's really not difficult, especially with removable stickers.  However, here is an easy way to adhere those full size sticker sheets to your page. Fold down the backing only about an inch. Now place the sticky part at the top of your page, lining up the rest to make sure it will be straight. When satisfied, gently pull away the backing from underneath.

Next... Starting with M2, the month title strip needs to go on the left page. Apply it to the top left corner. It's not necessary to leave a margin because this sticker will reach all the way to the coil. Repeat on the right page, aligning the sticker to the top right edge of the page, again... no margin.

Kate's 2024 sets of Monthly stickers have the day headers separate so that you are able to choose your start date.

The next step is to apply the thin washi strips to the far left and right edges of the monthly spread. This will help when it's time to adhere the actual calendar. You will have to trim a small portion off the end.

Now attach your left and right calendar pages by folding down the top edge of the backing sheet, as we did for the perpetual calendar full page. You can see how that washi strip is so helpful!

Add your headers, date dots, and colorful column; and you are all set to begin noting special dates and events. The labels and icons on the second sheet are very useful here! Naturally, they fit perfectly within the calender blocks. I also love that I can just slightly see the lined notes page through the sticker sheet. It's always a plus when the stickers and my handwriting have some guidance on being straight!

Remember to mark Planner Kate special release days, Markdown Mondays, and Warehouse Wednesdays! And did you know there are stickers available for that?

That was pretty simple, don't you think? I'd love to see yours!

Happy Planning!

-Debbie
